An Expariental Study on Tongue Lesions in Rabbits Induced by Repeated Injections of Autollogous Tongue Tissue with Adjuvant

Abstract
An experimental study on tongue lesions in rabbits induced by repeated injections of autologous tongue tissue with Freund¢¥s complete adjuvant was performed, as an attempt to produce immunologic glossitic changes and observe the nature and sinificance of this type of lesion as a morphologies, view point, concerning¢¥ to a certain human chronic non-infectious glossitis.
The results were as followings;
1 A reliable histopathological changes of tongue tissue was observed in the group of rabbits those were injected with rabbit tongue tissue suspension with Freund¢¥s complete adjuvant.
2. In this group, mild to moderate stromal changes and lymphocytic and monocytic infiltration were observed but clinical glossitic lesions, which was seen in human lesion, could¢¥nt be observed.
3. In the group of rabbits those were injected with rabbit tongue tissue suspesion only, mild stromal changes and lymphocytic and monocytic infiltration were observed.
4. In the group of rabbits those were injected with Freund¢¥s complete adjuvant only, minimal stromal changes and lymphocytic and monocytic infiltration were observed.
From the above findings, experimental tongue lesions show some similarities to those of chronic non-infectious glossitis and it is suggested that an immunologic process may be concerned in one of the pathogenic pathway of human chronic non-infectious glossitis.
